Eliokarmos is a newly discovered genus of perennial bulbous plants in the Hyacinthaceae family. It is endemic to South Africa where it can be found growing in the Namaqualand region. Eliokarmos pruinosus, synonymously known as Ornithogalum pruinosus, is a rarely seen species found in the Northern Cape from Richtersveld to Springbok in sheltered crevices on rocky south-facing slopes. It does particularly well in pots or rockeries. It bears white flowers.
